Quite the Week, Good gravy!

The sun is shinning, and I have great friends that love me! My clients all like me too! lol

Went out with the ladies last night, only stayed out till 8pm was back at the apt at 8:30. It was a fundraiser for the Div 3 girls. Burger and Beer for $12. Was pretty fun chatting with them all. Had to leave early though for projects of course. :P

I have a couple clients right now. One male with 2 appointments left and a female with one more appointment tomorrow. My client gave me a "5" this week. like the #. She doesn't speak very good english so I questioned what she was saying? And she said, you know 5 out of 5. Lol I was thinking out of 10... yikes. good thing!
After that Monday I have a brand new client to me. She seems nice. Maybe a little driver in here though. We will see. She is blind in one eye and almost full blindness in the second eye... Never had to deal with that before. It s going to be such a great experience!

Another project due tomorrow. I haven't even had a second to blog the last few days... Been up till 12 at least working on cue cards/projects/studying. Mostly projects... oh geeze I am behind on my cue cards... Weekend starts tomorrow. Boy do I feel like I need it! haha

Watching the canucks game while blogging right now, so far 0-0. After this, 8pm, yikes in only 30 min, I have an online group meeting... to finish up our project that is due tomorrow and we have to present to the class. These presentations just might kill me!

Dinner

My aunt made me dinner. It's chili with nachos and sour cream. She said she never heard of regular nachos until way later. This was amazing. Try it out, it will make your tummy happy!

At home

 Naima steering the boat all by herself, apparently they went in squiggles and circles. Cannot wait till next time we have her and I am there. I have a little bit of a break before the next crazy study sessions.

This has been a different weekend. I decided I needed to come back home to de-stress. Worked great, but I had so much studying to do. It was still completly worth it! Naima and Gav went fishing with uncle Kyle (to mostly leave the house so  could focus) in his newly made boat (puddle duck). Pictures looked like they had lots of fun.

Naima's laugh/stories/jumping up and down and passing out in her bed let me know she had fun too. They didn't catch any fish, but obviously had a blast!


My desk at home, where I spent most of my time this weekend... I do not plan on making this a habit. lol

We went for granny's 83rd birthday at the shady rest in Qualicum. Great food there! When we got back home, Gav and I put the little bear to bed after a goodnight story book and I sat down and attempted to... Just guess, I dare you!!!
...I was studying, Naima is in bed and Gav is rockin out a game on X-box... well he tried to... the internet is being funny... Shaw is coming Sat to check it out.

Talking myself through school stuff.

Today was such a great day! Woke up a little late, but had a lazy first class with a simple presentation, then finished my third client, then got a little girly chat in after school. (Girly chat was my FAV part of the whole day)
Oh, finished my third client today! Huzzah! Thats exciting too.

The only thing is... how come I don't feel accomplished, finishing my third client? Shouldn't I feel as if I can rock the debridement task? I sure do not. I did just fine on my case presentation, but thats sooo different! That includes people skills, lol I can do people skills any day, thanx to one of my fav instructors! Goodness I have learned sooo many outside of debriding skills. Anyways back to this debridement task... I was talking to a few people about how they are feeling skill wise, most of them say "ok." But what does that actually mean? Common'....
Maybe I'll wait it out one more week before I attempt to debride...
I guess first thing is I need a client to debride on... Blast... lol
On the positive side, I will be home in 21 hours! Oh good gravy I cannot wait to be home. I have many hours of studying to do. But I need to go home and see my little shnook, shmoops and the little pup. Maybe we will do some fishing, maybe a little hike, maybe go fish lol

3 days grace concert

There was this Irish thing going on downtown Vancouver. Now 100 sure what it was that was happening, all I knew is that there was a man on stilts that looked like hooves.He was rockin' out.

Oh snap. I cried today. Finally. Shame it was in front of my instructors. I hate it, now I feel like they will judge me (or think, "be careful not to make her cry, or watch out she is going to cry") every time I see them.
I am totally embarrassed... It's like when you disappoint someone you know. It's not a big deal right? But when you disappoint someone you admire, It's a whole other thing. I dislike this feeling! I didn't disappoint, I just didn't want them to see. But one specifically I really didn't want to see! Sheeesh. I just want to be home. In bed. With my man. Not in this city...
Only one more sleep, only one more sleep. Common Friday?!

Game Plan

My game plan consists of:

Microbi cue cards
Pharmacology cue cards
Local anesthetic cue cards
Oral Pathology cue cards
... That is a whole lot of cue cards!!!
I am giving them away to my Div 2 buddy next year... I am sure these will fill a shoe box by the end!
After these never ending cue cards... I am studying!
I found a client tomorrow... Going to do my case presentation task. I have to explain everything to my client while an instructor stands over me... uh... nerve racking?! Yes! I hate being watched!!!! Next week I am going to look for a client to do my debride task...
On another note...
We have these very sweet grade 12 students watching our class to see if this is what they want to do after high school. One of the girls is going to CDA school before RDH like me. I kinda think she is going to stay a CDA though... She doesn't like to be stressed out. Thats alright, thats why she is shadowing us, right? She will find out very quickly anyways.
I cannot believe I graduated in 2006... Man I feel old... well not really. I still feel 18, Prob cuz thats when I met Gav. Where was I at 18? Tee hee, I just turned 18 after I met him, and we went on this outrageous road trip! I cannot believe how time has flown. What happened? I'm not the baby anymore... It kinda feels weird.

Goals

If you really know me I am very much a goal oriented girl. If I want something bad enough no matter how much work it takes I will do it. Gav is the same, when he has his mind set, thats it. lol Love it! So there it is, I always meet my goal. I absolutely believe that a Bagua Vision Board (or something along those lines) http://baguavisionboard.wordpress.com/ really works. It truly helps me see my goals and aspirations everyday and to stay focused on what I want to accomplish in the next few years.
When my man and I got together after six months of dating we knew we wanted to be together forever, so we decided it would be a good experience to each set separate goals and then goals together. A couple goals we decided on was to buy house by my 21st birthday, and he felt it was important that he owned his own business by his 25th birthday and both were met. Sure we made other goals that are happening, and have slightly missed the date by a year or so. No problem. They were obviously not as important to us. And its true, when I look back at the scrap book that we made, the goals that are slightly behind did not have that big of a focus. Interesting.

I was talking to my man last night on skype and we made some new goals. How exciting! We want to get married before our 8 year anniversary. I need a full time job (or 2 part time jobs) for at least a year as a dental hygienist. Mostly get my foot in the door but also to get maternity leave and pay off my student loans... then we are soo ready for babies! We both want 2 babies, obviously a boy and a girl, but would be happy with anything that comes out (preferably no aliens...) Naima is going to be the best big sister, I know she will want to help take care of them. Gav wants residual income within the next 5 years (very possible). The last thing we talked about was house renovations. Each year after I graduate and have a job we are going do one significant renovation to our home. The whole downstairs is complete (well almost just needs baseboards) now I want our area to be started.

I must have planned our wedding about 4 times. I could tell you every single detail about each idea. We have for sure come to a final decision though. *scream excitement* The only reason why we haven't got married yet is because of finances. School really makes it difficult to save money and give us time to plan anything. But the 8 year mark something will happen.

The latest plans I have been thinking of is for Naima's bedroom. I cannot wait to design it. Naima and I were looking at pictures a couple weeks ago together and she wants each wall a different color (yellow, blue ceiling, pink, green and orange)  Then pink (of course) bedsheets and comforter. We are going to put up sticky colorful huge circular stickers along the top of the walls and glow in the dark stars covering her ceiling. Oh its is going to look adorable!!!

 This is kinda like the circular sticker idea, but maybe not that big and only along the ceiling on the wall.

This is for the different wall color idea, disregard the gross carpet, she will have wood flooring.

I kinda like the flower wall stickers too, how fun. I'll have to ask Naima about this one. I am making sure she wants these things and that I do not take over. Its her room after all.

For my spring break in May I am going to make up our next Bagua Vision Board to fulfill our latest goals. Oh how exciting.

Oh there are only 103 days left before I am done my first year of school in Vancouver. What an experience!!!

Ok, Back to studying...

Tuesday

Yes, it's true! Its Tuesday!!!
Lol. Its a short week this week, but today felt like it was 3 days in one. How did that happen? I met a new client today, she is super sweet has been with VCC for years and years and years! I cannot wait for her to be my case presentation! I am going to rock it!
This weekend I am going to rock Vancouver's life by staying here and studying for my next midterm. My girly friend and I are going to be living at the Vancouver public library to get er' done! Separate ourselves from TV and Internet for the day.
Me and my man are rockin' the skype date thing. Its really not too bad. Of course I always wish I was home, but gotta make the best of my one and only life right?

Dinner

Miss home

I'm on the ferry again back to the mainland. I wonder how many times I have said that in my blog posts... I have another big test Monday so I am going to try and stay in Vancouver this weekend. We will see, depending on how bad I am frustrated with my living situation... but I need to study! Gav has Naima this coming weekend and I just love her soo much I want to spend every second with her! So its impossible for me to stay in the same house and pretend I will study. Oh well...

Critiques

Phew, lots of posts today! But I feel I need to get my thoughts out. I wrote my annotated bibliography 2 weeks ago for my group and sent it to them. The project is due on Friday and they only started critiquing it today... (Wednesday) I put 2 days work into this project so I thought they all would really like it. Sure all writings need to be reviewed and polished, but they are critiquing it online (where I can see them type their thoughts). Individually they are making me feel like it needs to be completely written over...
They are all being super nice about it and everything, but I wish someone just said "that is not right the way you wrote it. Lets figure this out." I don't like it when people beat around the bush I am a driver, give it to me straight, I don't have time for fiddling around.
Oh geeze I wanna cry. I apparently do not take critiques very well...
Maybe thats why Gav and I are so perfect for one another. I am a true amiable, but I have MANY driver personality traits. Like just getting the job done, and no bush beating. Gav is the same he hates guessing games, cuz he will never get it, but tell him what to do and he is there with it done.

Calculus

Something epic happened to me today!
I saw a new client that has not been to our clinic since August 2008 and he had a full upper denture and 10 lower teeth... Sounds pretty standard right? WRONG!
I saw my first real live bridge of calculus today! It looked exactly like the pictures in our text books. I couldn't even believe it! I want to take pictures and scrape it off sooo bad!
I want to add a picture to show what it looked like but my computer is acting funny... Oh well, Maybe I'll restart and try again later.

Oh, I am just soo happy!

Pofessional coupon shopper

My new goal in life when I graduate and have some time on my hands is to become a coupon shopper. Yes thats right, you read that correctly. I want to be a professional at it! I just watched these people on TV do it, one person had a $600 bill of groceries and brought it down to $6.87. Unbelievable! Why waste money when I could spend 1 hour looking for coupons and save at least $500-600/month.

With another family. One parent lost their job and the other was injured where he couldn't work. I have always wanted 3 months of just in case food. And just circulate it. Why? No idea. But it will make me feel better.

I don't want crap food or anything, so I wont be like a crazy lady, just thrifty :)

Fail. You can only do this in the states... Not here.
