Client

Phew a client clinic day! In the morning we started out with a lecture class. We learnt everything you could ever know about toothpaste, if you have any questions at all ask me or your dental hygienist. We know more than anyone. Then we got out 10 min early (woo) and everyone headed down to clinic. My client was a new lesson for me. She walked in upset. Now the first apt we ever had together she told me her whole story, her whole life. It made me so sad for her... today though tested how sympathetic I can be as well as how comfortable I can make my client. I asked if she wanted to take a day to herself, she said "no, if I leave I will have all the responsibilities 3 hours early. This is my time to relax." I just wanted to give her a huge hug the moment I saw tears.

I am finding out some days are going to be stressful working in the real world. I only get 1-1 1/2 hours to see a client which will probably be mostly superficial...

I have learnt many life skills in the past 5 months that I will never forget. Who knew going into dental hygiene, I would learn life skills!
